The past year was truly exceptional for SGA: we celebrated the Society’s 60th anniversary, hosted a highly successful 18th Biennial Meeting in Golden, and strengthened collaborations with partner organizations. Our objective for 2026 is to build on these achievements and ensure the continued growth and impact of the SGA, fulfilling its core mission: advancing the science of mineral deposit geology.

We will continue to achieve this through publishing our flagship journal Mineralium Deposita, producing special publications and newsletters, organizing the 19^th Biennial meeting to be held in Perth, Australia in 2027 and the 10^th SGA-SEG-IUGS-UNESCO Short Course on African Metallogeny to be held this summer in Nigeria, offering short courses, workshops, and special sessions at major conferences, continue supporting student chapters, and providing networking and collaborative research opportunities for members while upholding the highest ethical standards.
