Welcome to the Student Chapter Erlangen 

The Student Chapter Erlangen of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA) was founded in 2023. Our main goal is to spark and strengthen interest in economic geology among fellow students.

To achieve this, we organize at least two talks each semester on a variety of topics related to economic geology. These events are typically followed by informal gatherings—such as barbecues or dinners—which provide a great opportunity for networking and relaxed exchange.

We also host workshops led by international experts, giving students hands-on insights into mining-related subjects and industry-relevant software tools.

In addition, we organize field trips to mining regions across Europe, ideally in collaboration with other SGA or SEG student chapters. These excursions offer valuable on-site learning experiences and help foster connections between students from different universities and countries.
